COVID POLICY FOR Clear to There PILGRIMAGES

Updated 3/9/23Subject to change at the pilgrimage leader’s discretion.

Our first priority is the health and safety of every person traveling in a Clear to There Pilgrimage.  This protocol is designed to optimize your safety especially given the uncertain nature of the global pandemic.  We will review and discuss this protocol during our pre-pilgrimage gatherings.  Please familiarize yourself with the protocol and be prepared to adhere to it to help support your well-being and the safety and well-being of each participant.

  • Check with your individual airline about their COVID guidelines and requirements.
  • Check COVID requirements for return to the U.S.
  • Review the COVID requirements for traveling to Spain.

What if someone has symptoms on the pilgrimage?  If a member of the group experiences symptoms on the pilgrimage, they are asked to let the Carol Osterhus know immediately. Carol will ask the symptomatic person to immediately isolate from the group.  The symptomatic person and each person in the group should bring a supply of three to four COVID-19 test kits in order to test themselves. If the test is negative, no further action will be taken.

What if someone tests positive for COVID-19 during pilgrimage? If a member of the group tests positive, Carol Osterhus will ask the individual and any travel partner(s) (if sharing a room) to exit the pilgrimage for the well-being of the greater group. Carol will help facilitate this as well as share next steps with the other members of the group who may have had close contact with the positive individual. Each person, including a member of the group testing positive and that person’s travel partner(s) should bring a supply of three to four COVID-19 test kits in order to test themselves.
